Alicya M. Guckert
Associate
Ms. Guckert is an associate with the Firm, whose practice is focused on the defense of medical malpractice claims. Prior to joining The Wiggins Law Group, she worked as a law clerk and then an associate attorney for a medical malpractice defense firm, where she gained significant experience working on a variety of complex medical malpractice and products liability matters. As both a law clerk and associate, Ms. Guckert assisted a number of senior attorneys and was involved in multiple phases of discovery and motions practice in numerous medical malpractice and products liability cases. Her responsibilities included researching and drafting memoranda on various legal issues, including significant evidentiary issues, as well as drafting pleadings, discovery responses and dispositive motions. Ms. Guckert also regularly engaged with experts of various specialties related to all aspects of expert witness work. She is now quickly gaining experience arguing motions and taking and defending depositions.
Prior to joining her previous firm, Ms. Guckert was a paralegal for a Baltimore County law firm, where she worked on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters involving alleged violations of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Ms. Guckert received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from The University of Alabama Honors College in 2019. She earned minor degrees in Psychology and French and was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and The Golden Key Society. In December of 2022, she graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
